Sixteen Bairnsdale Secondary College students attended the ‘Inspiring Young Koorie Women’ dinner.
The girls were given the opportunity to meet with Koorie women from our local area who each shared their individual pathways, including education, careers, and lifestyles. The guest speakers included: Kylie Clarke (Monash University Churchill - Koorie Footprints to Higher Education co-ordinator), Bonnie O'Shannasy (Bairnsdale Regional Health Service) and Daphne Yarram (Manager of Yoowinna Wurnalung Healing Service in Lakes Entrance),
The girls were given the opportunity to ask questions of the women to assist them in deciding their own pathways. The strong message to all the girls was: wish - dream - believe - succeed.
Narkeiia Walker delivered a fantastic speech to the women, thanking them for sharing their pathways.
